CAREERS & INTERNSHIPS
Why Now?
We are in a moment of profound transformation — where shifting geopolitical alliances, groundbreaking technological disruption, and shifts in democratic governance are redefining the international order. These forces are redefining the very fabric of our reality. In this context, expanding strategic cooperation with our closest neighbors is not just smart — it’s a geostrategic imperative. A more prosperous, freer, and more secure Americas means more jobs, greater innovation, safer supply chains, energy autonomy, and less dependence on foreign adversaries.
In today’s hyper-polarized world — torn between globalism and nationalism, open markets and protectionism, equity and meritocracy — negative narratives too often drive the conversation. Across the globe, the contributions of Latinos are driving transformational change — yet these remarkable stories of impact and success often remain untold.
As a reflection of their strong connection to the economies to which they are connected, Americans in the U.S. with roots in Latin America alone represent the equivalent of the world’s 5th largest economy, employ 3 million Americans, and bring trillions every year to the economy. And though Latin America’s separate economies may seem small, together they make up more than 7 percent of global GDP, positioning the region as the fourth largest economic force after the United States, the European Union, and China. If we activate these forces, we can unlock the Americas Dream — a new era of hemispheric prosperity rooted in regional economic integration and a strong U.S. economy — and rewrite the future of the Americas and the world.
