Jacqueline Bern de Mena
International Advisory Committee – Jacqueline Bern is currently the CEO of Bern Holdings, a family-owned Panamanian real estate development, construction, and tourism company. While Empresas Bern is a vertically integrated corporation, she oversees the architecture and interior design departments, as well as the Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility division and member of the board of directors of the Bern Foundation, a foundation focused on education. In addition, Mrs. Bern is the Vice President of the brokerage firm Invertis Securities. She is an active member of the Panamanian Association of Business Executives (APEDE), where she is its current Vice President (2021-2022). Mrs. Bern is also involved in the cultural and social programs of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama (MAC), where she sits on its Board of Directors as Treasurer. She is co-founder of the women’s empowerment movement Mujer+Panamá, member of the Electoral Delegates Corps of the Electoral Tribunal of Panama, and a member of the Association of Women Directors of Panama. Mrs. Bern was recognized in the book Those Who Inspire Panama for her work in the Gender Equality Initiative and in Forbes Central America magazine for her work as Director of CSR.
As for her studies, Ms. Bern holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Goizueta Business School and a Bachelor’s in Art History from Emory University. She has a diploma in Social Responsibility Management from the Technological University of Panama (UTP) and a Postgraduate Degree in Behavioral Statistics from London School of Economics. She is also an independent board member of the IFC-World Bank.
