Steven Dudley is a longtime reporter, investigator and consultant who specializes in breaking down security issues in conflict situations, studying trends and tendencies of organized crime, and analyzing political crises. He is the former Bureau Chief of The Miami Herald in the Andean Region and is the author of “Walking Ghosts: Murder and Guerrilla Politics in Colombia” (Routledge 2004).
In 2010, Dudley co-founded InSight Crime with Jeremy McDermott, a fellow journalist specializing in drug trafficking, organized crime, and the Colombian civil conflict, a non-profit journalism and investigative organization that specialized in organized crime in Latin America and the Caribbean. The organization reaches between 300,000 and 400,000 readers monthly on its website and social media.
