Craig Deare, who was recently named NSC's Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs, has been asked to leave the job, leaving a vacuum in Trump's administration Latin American team.

Global Americans has just heard that Craig Deare, who was recently named NSC’s Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs, has been asked to leave the job. He was the only senior member of Trump’s team focusing on Latin America. While no reason was given for his dismissal, it is probable that it was related to comments Deare made at a private event hosted by the Woodrow Wilson Center, where he strongly criticized President Trump, Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner.

This turn of events clearly leave a gap in Latin  American policy, as a series of initiatives hang in the balance and tensions with a number of countries—especially Mexico have deteriorated.
