He served as the Director of the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and in senior leadership positions in government affairs and advocacy for Latin America at Uber and PhRMA, and most recently as Managing Director at FTI Consulting, focusing on strategic communications, political risk management, and public affairs for Latin America. Though born in the United States, Meacham was raised in Chile, his mother’s country of origin.

Serving as Meacham’s Vice President for Policy will be Robert Funk, an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Chile, bringing 25 years of academic and consulting expertise. A former president of the Chilean Political Science Association, Dr. Funk has held several international fellowships and is sought after by media and the private sector around the world. “I have long admired the work that Global Americans does and am proud to have been a contributor in the past. Now I’m looking forward to supporting Carl in expanding the organization’s impact in the region,” Dr. Funk said.
