Global Americans contributor Dr. Samantha Chaitram will be joining a panel discussion with the Institute of International Relations (IIR) at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago entitled, “THE US ELECTION OUTCOME AND IMPLICATIONS FOR US-CARIBBEAN RELATIONS.” The panel will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 1-3 p.m. EST. Moderated by Professor Jessica Byron, Director, IIR, the panel discussion will aim to address salient issues regarding the outcome of the U.S. election, and its implications for the Spanish, French and English-speaking nations of the wider Caribbean region. Eight expert panelists will analyze the most significant global geopolitical issues likely to define U.S.-Caribbean relations, key trends and possibilities during the next administration on these issues, and the implications for the greater Caribbean space. The panelists will also examine the most important concerns to be tackled by Caribbean states in crafting constructive national and regional relations with the United States during the next presidency.
