Oh, the notorious wall. Who will pay for it? The U.S.? Mexico? U.S. consumers? Immigrants sending remittances? Besides that as-yet-unresolved issue, there seems to be a larger effort to isolate Mexico. Whether intentional or not, isolating Mexico from the U.S. will have a boomerang effect.  What Trump conveniently ignores is that the U.S. needs trade with Mexico, it needs amicable bilateral relations (for security among many things), it needs Mexican immigrants (for labor and to pay into the U.S.’s near-broke social security system), and needs to follow W.T.O rules not just for our sake, but for international relations and global prosperity. Perhaps Mexico should put up a sign at the border “Build at your own risk.”
