Forbes Live TV premiered an exclusive interview with Tomislav Kuljis, president of Bolivia’s largest supermarket chain, Hipermaxi S.A., and board member of Global Americans. Hipermaxi S.A. is already among the top 15 companies in Bolivia, with over 4,000 employees and more than USD $250 million in annual income.

In the interview Kuljis discussed his company’s decisions to tackle the crisis caused by the pandemic and the state of the Bolivian and global economy.

“To devalue the currency now would be insane. It would distort everything, it’s too late. Maybe it should have been five years ago through mini-devaluations. Monetary policy does not dictate Bolivia, Brazil dictates it. It’s even possible that at some point we will have to move to the Brazilian real. We need to study it,” he said.
