Hard to believe that it’s only been two months since President Donald J. Trump took the oath of office with a pledge of placing America First.  That promise has materialized in a temporary travel ban on travelers from six majority-muslim countries, heated phone calls with other heads of state, insinuations of a trade war with China, and, of course, an executive order to start the Mexico border wall—still with a promise that Mexico will eventually still pay for it.  More recently, the U.S. threatened to significantly cut foreign aid and this week Rex Tillerson wrote a letter to nine nonprofits saying that the United Nations Human Rights Council needed to undertake dramatic reforms, otherwise the U.S. would pull out.  In a multipolar world, is going it alone and antagonizing friendly nations the best strategy for the U.S.?
