On Wednesday the UN Security Council failed to pass resolution condemning Syria chemical weapons attack. Russia and Bolivia voted no, while China, Kazakhstan and Ethiopia abstained. Ten votes were in favor of resolution among them Britain, France and the United States who drafted the resolution. China’s abstention might be a win for Trump, while Bolivia’s vote is in line with how the country has voted in the past pertaining to human rights violations.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, warned Moscow against protecting Assad. This is the eighth time Moscow has used its veto power on the Security Council to protect Assad’s regime and further inflame Syria’s civil war.
