An interview with Bibiana Rojas, Managing Director at Canopy Growth Colombia

Before merging with the Ontario-based Canopy Growth Corp.—the world’s most valuable cannabis company—Rojas co-founded Colombian Cannabis and the EduCannabis Foundation. In 2018, Colombian Cannabis was acquired by Canopy Growth, becoming the first unit of Canopy LATAM under the brand Spectrum Cannabis Colombia. Rojas maintained her leadership role under Canopy Growth, and is responsible for supervising and managing the main production site in Neiva, including the construction of extraction facilities and future operations in the country. 

Rojas is one of the few women in leadership positions within the Cannabis industry, and was named among the Cannabis Industry Women to Watch in 2019 by Marijuana Business Magazine. She was also the first Colombian to appear on the list. 

For the past five years, Rojas has also been head of the Gold Group Strategy Office, a group of companies with presence in automotive, construction, beverage and energy sectors. Prior to these roles, she worked for international companies including, Boston Consulting Group, Kimberly-Clark, Siemens and Morgan Stanley. Rojas holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Central University of Florida and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
